Some dogs bark excessively when they're bored or lonely, especially if left alone for a long time. A change in the dog's environment, the addition of new toys or chew items, or changes in routine can be helpful in changing the barking behavior. Increasing the amount of excercise and owner attention the dog gets may also prove helpful.
